WE WANT YOUR TREASURES

We're always looking for new consignors to fill out our monthly showcases with vintage and contemporary furniture, fashion, art, artifacts, jewelry, housewares and other oddities high in form and/or function. Whether you're a seasoned seller, someone who's interested in getting your feet wet in the world of resale, a shop owner with stagnant merchandise, or a collector with precious objects you want to find new homes for, we're happy to add you and yours to our revolving consignment roster.

CONSIGNING AT GOLDEN RULE

  • All new consignors must complete an Intake Interview and Consigner Training Session with Jillian Barkley, our consignment coordinator.
  • Consignors are responsible for pricing their own merchandise using Golden Rule price tags and a standard book-keeper format we provide.
  • Consignors are responsible for logging their own item inventory numbers, descriptions, and prices into an Excel template we provide.
  • We reserve the right to decline items based on their quality, condition, price, and or/appropriateness for our space.
  • Consignors are responsible for checking in the last weekend of the month to see if their items from one month will be included in our next monthly showcase. If you don't check in on your belongings, anything that doesn't fit with our upcoming theme will be taken to our off-site basement storage until you retrieve it.
  • We do not accept new consignment items from new consignors during our monthly transitions. Sorry, it's just too hectic.  Our transitions begin the Sunday before the First Friday of the month. We begin accepting new consignment items again the Saturday after First Friday.
  • Golden Rule is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of consignment items. We will only file an insurance claim in the case of a catastrophic event.
  • All Golden Rule members (including all consignors, volunteers, interns, and other helpful people) receive 20%-off all inventory, including consignment pieces, after which Golden Rule takes our 20-40% commission. Consignors are responsible for adjusting their prices in anticipation of this.
  • Aside from the standard 20%-off discount given to Golden Rule members, we will only discount the price of your merchandise to the public with advance permission from you, by calling you for permission at the time of the sale, or by accident. We are not responsible for mathematical accidents made by our volunteers.
  • Golden Rule pays consignors 60% on their sales, with Golden Rule keeping 40% on consignment sales.
  • Consignors are paid out by check on the 15th of the month following the month in which the item sold (ex. all October sales are paid out November 15th).
  • Consignors will receive with their check a pay-out slip indicating what items sold and all relevant information associates with their sales.
  • Consignors are responsible for identifying and addressing any mathematical accidents that happen on our behalf.
  • Consignors are responsible for updating their Excel consignor log to sold items and items pulled from the floor.
  • Both parties reserve the right to discontinue the consignment relationship at any time for any reason.
